Our mission at Metro Detroit Share is to provide support resources to families who endure the loss of a child during pregnancy or infancy. Metro Detroit Share is a volunteer support group of parents who have experienced the loss of their babies through miscarriage, stillbirth or early infant loss. Founded in 2008. We are a local Michigan chapter of the National Share Organization.

Memory Boxes

Metro Detroit Share provides keepsake/memory boxes and Early Pregnancy Loss bags to Michigan based hospitals, OB/GYN offices, hospice organizations and direct to families

Support Services

Metro Detroit Share runs twice per month support meetings - one in Taylor and one in West Bloomfield. In addition, Metro Detroit Share runs a closed facebook group for online support.

Funeral Assistance

Metro Detroit Share provides funeral assistance for Michigan based families that lose a baby during pregnancy or the during the 1st year of life. Services such as burial costs, funeral service costs, urns, headstones, etc will be considered. Assistance subject to the availability of funds and the exhaustion of other resources

CARING CRADLE DONATIONS

Metro Detroit Share provides Caring Cradles (cooling unit bassinets) to Michigan based hospitals

REMEMBRANCE EVENTS

Metro Detroit Share provides annual remembrance activities including a no-cost Walk for Remembrance and Hope held the 1st Sunday each October at Heritage Park in Taylor.

TRAINING

Metro Detroit Share has also funded perinatal, neonatal, and pediatric training for hospital personnel and will continue to explore ways to ensure staff are trained appropriately to deal with bereaved parents in the most compassionate manner.
